Wicked star Lucy Durack reveals her baby loves the sound of kettle
“One day she was crying — I was changing her nappy and she was hating it. I started singing her some of the nursery rhymes and it wasn’t working, so I just started singing One Short Day in the Emerald City (from Wicked) and she stopped crying,” the WA-raised stage and screen star said.
“But it doesn’t work every time. I’ll tell you what does work every time is the sound of the kettle. I try not to get too disappointed and offended that actually she’d rather just listen to the kettle boiling than me singing.“
Lucy Ducrack is an Australian musical performer recognised for playing Glinda in the Australian production of Wicked.
