Shinzo Abe, japan's prime minister and foreign representatives were on the tens of thousands who gathered in a crowd at the Peace Memorial Park.

To observe a moment of silence at 8:15 am local time, when the detonation turned the western Japanese city into an inferno.

World First Atomic bomb

Hiroshima is best known as the first city in history to be targeted by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on the city at 8:15 a.m. on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II.
